The Future of Film

By Marwan El Mozayen / SilvergrainClassics

Your photos could represent The Future of Film
in SilvergrainClassics’ print edition and online!

Submission Deadline: October 14, 2024

Rather than looking back to celebrate our 25th Issue, SilvergrainClassics is looking to the future. You and your photos are the future of film! We want to share them with our community of readers in over 70 countries.
Just send us a PDF to info@silvergrainclassics.com, with the file name and the subject heading Issue 25 Submissions. The file should not exceed a maximum size of 10 MB.
It should include 10 to 15 analog photos that represent your work, and short answers to the questions below.

  • Why do you shoot film?
  • What does film mean in your life?
  • What do you hope The Future of Film will hold?

Past cover artists have included Helmut Newton and Steve McCurry, so you’ll be in great company.
If you and your photos are chosen, we will interview you and print your portfolio and story in print Issue 25 of SilvergrainClassics, and include a story about you on our blog. Just send us your PDF by October 14.
We are excited to see your work and hear your thoughts about film and its future!

Conditions of participation

SilvergrainClassics authors and employees are not eligible. To be eligible for a cover feature, the photo must have been made in an analog workflow and be in a square format. If your submission does not contain square photos, you must give permission to crop to be eligible to be featured on the cover. We assume that you own the image rights to the submission.

These online articles are free – we see it as our contribution to the film photography community. You can support this content by subscribing to our awesome print magazine about the entire world of analog photography!
