This series of images is a documentation of people that come and pass during the rare occasion where I am out shopping for essential items during the Covid pandemic period. Shot on Lomography CN 800 and Fuji Superia X-Tra 400 during March to May lockdown period in Brisbane, Australia.
Before the whole pandemic situation, I never thought doing groceries would be something to get excited about. The movement control in my area allows for people to be out for essential activities – shopping for essential items being one of them. Longing for an excuse to head outside, I find myself eager for the next grocery run.
At the grocers, various Covid-19 signages and distance markings on the floor are there to remind me of the strange time we are in.
The lack of the usual cheery chatter amongst patrons brings about a quietness that feels alien in a grocer.
The silence broken only the sound of patrons shuffling about and the occasional click from my camera shutter.
