VALOI is announcing the VALOI easy35 v2, the next Generation of a most popular compact film scanning system. Originally launched via crowdfunding in March 2023, the easy35 has since been adopted by thousands of photographers and archivists worldwide. The new easy35 v2 represents a complete redesign, with over 80% new components, setting a new benchmark for compact, high-quality film scanning.

The Universal Light Source
The easy35 v2 delivers a significant leap in performance, increasing light uniformity from 81% to a near-perfect 99%. This ensures flawless, edge-to-edge illumination, providing superior results even when using wide-angle lenses or scanning low-contrast negaves.
Supporting this precision is our sensor-level optimized light source. By utlizing a fixed color temperature, it naturally balances the heavy orange tint of color negatives to prevent clipped reds and preserve maximum detail for your postprocessing. It is a professional, neutral solution designed for everything from B&W and slides to ECN-2 and color negatives.

Mechanical Upgrades
The easy35 v2 transitions from 3D-printed nylon to injection-molded ABS, resulting in improved surface finish and 5–10× tighter mechanical tolerances.
Further mechanical improvements include:
- All-metal rotation mechanism for precise alignment and smooth operation
- 5-point spring-loaded ball-bearing film holder system, ensuring consistent parallelism and faster holder changes
- Magnetic accessory mounting for compatible accessories such as the Duster.
Power & Workflow Enhancements
Designed for both portable and studio use, the easy35 v2 includes:
Over 4 hours of continuous battery operation (doubled from the previous generation)
Smart Battery Bypass, allowing direct USB-C wall power operation without draining the battery, reducing heat and preserving battery health
Repairability & Sustainability
The easy35 v2 is fully user-repairable, assembled using standard screws rather than glue or clips. Major components – including the battery, electronics, and housing sections – can be individually replaced, extending the product’s usable lifespan and reducing electronic waste.
As always with VALOI products, the film holders are replaceable and various formats are available at launch.

Preorders will be €199 through 26th February; from March 26th, the regular price will be €229 like the original easy35.
