A Secure Future for an Analog Icon

For decades, the Heiland Splitgrade Controller System has been a benchmark in high-quality darkroom printing. Alongside it, Heiland electronic has introduced countless innovations in analog photography and precision measurement. Now, founder Jürgen Heiland has set the course for the company’s long-term future – excellent news for the global darkroom community.

In an official announcement, the company revealed that Heiland electronic will continue from January 2026 under the new name Heiland Vision Germany. The leadership will be taken over by Martin Lang and Martin Müller, both seasoned executives at LiFaTec in Hüttenberg, bringing extensive expertise in fiber optics and optoelectronics. The existing Heiland team, together with Jürgen Heiland, will remain in place, ensuring continuity and technical depth.

A refreshed brand identity will be presented soon, built around the guiding idea “Light in Focus“. The mission remains unchanged: to provide outstanding solutions for industry, science, and – at the heart of it – the cultural heritage of analog black-and-white photography.

For darkroom printers worldwide, this is reassuring news: the innovation behind Splitgrade, LED cold-light heads, and many other tools is not only preserved but actively moving into a new chapter.
