Black Friday Sale

Happy Scanning With SilverFast And Plustek

by Hermann Groeneveld / SilvergrainClassics

I feel the same way I do almost every year at this time: after a colorful and mild autumn, it suddenly turned bitterly cold in Bavaria. From now on, activities will automatically shift back indoors.

For the past few days, my scanner has been running non-stop during the day to finally digitize and archive the films from last summer.

I’m using a latest-generation Plustek OpticFilm scanner (provided to SilvergrainClassics for testing by Plustek which I still have to report on). And I’m using SilverFast Ai Studio from LaserSoft Imaging, which helps me organize and tag my images with metadata using the ingenious Virtual Light Table (VLT).

LaserSoft Imaging is currently supporting the analog community with an enticing Black Friday Sale: 30 percent off (almost) everything: SilverFast, any upgrades, and the user-friendly IT8 targets for fully automatic IT8 Calibration / profiling of your scanner.

The offer is valid immediately and ends on December 8, 2025.

More about scanning in the new issue 28 of SilvergrainClassics

The myth of scan resolution: We scanned identical images with several scanners, using the same resolution. With very different results. Essential reading for anyone who scans.
