The First Steps of an International Magazine for Analog Photography

SilvergrainClassics celebrated its 25th issue at the end of 2024 with an exploration of the future of film photography. But there is also a commitment to the magazine’s origins: it started in 2018 as PhotoKlassik International, the English-language offshoot of the German publication PhotoKlassik. PhotoKlassik International continued the success story of the German magazine, but always had its own content and focus.
Speaking of reasons to celebrate, another one is coming up in the spring of 2025: SilvergrainClassics has been appearing as an independent magazine for five years now. But as we said, we have not forgotten our roots. After five creative years, we are happy to remind you of the first steps our editorial team, authors, and photographers took towards bringing the international film photography community closer.
