CineStill have announced a new product. The Cinestill Creative Slide Cs6, is a 3 bath E6 chemistry kit. This provides  a quick and easy process that offers photographers the opportunity to create slide film images.

The  Cinestill Creative Slide Cs6 kit is a  3-Bath Process. This reduces the number of processing baths for E-6 film from the original Kodak recipe from 6 baths to 3.

The steps are:

  • First Developer
  • Colour Developer
  • Bleach Fix

Cinestill claim that their D9 “DynamicChrome” First Developer to be the world’s first developer able to render 9+ stops of usable dynamic range, compared to approximately 6 stops with conventional E-6 processing. They say that D9 First Developer maintains vibrant color-contrast and rich warm-tones with preserved highlight and shadow detail for a more cinematic look, and that it is optimized for scanning.

The reversal step occurs during color development in a colour and reversal bath, and the bleach and conditioner steps are combined with the fixing step in a Bleach and Fixer bath. D9 “DynamicChrome” is the world’s most flexible 1st developer for slide film, rendering approximately 9+ stops of usable dynamic range, compared to approximately 6 stops with conventional E-6 processing.

The Cinestill Creative Slide Cs6 kit is available for sale on cinestillfilm.com and will be available soon at film photography retailers.
